Product Overview
Performance irons designed for accomplished golfers seeking premium feel and stability.
To improve on the highly successful X-20 Tour Irons, Callaway Golf engineers added new features that allow the X-22 Tour Irons to play even better and feel even softer. Precision Notch Weighting and a new sleeker hosel combine to raise the moment of inertia (MOI) for better stability and allow the center of gravity (CG) to be moved lower and more in line with the center of the face. This generates ideal trajectories and significantly enhances the level of feel. The head shape has been refined with the thinnest possible topline while still using a 360-Degree Undercut Channel, and the optimized sole width progression provides better turf interaction.
- Precision Notch Weighting: Precisely positions more weight to the perimeter of the iron to create a higher MOI for greater forgiveness and stability while maintaining the CG position that produces ideal trajectories and feel.
- Tour-Proven Head Shape: Features the thinnest topline possible while still incorporating a 360-Degree Undercut Channel. The blade length is shorter and the CG has been moved lower and in line with the center of the face to provide unparalleled performance with enhanced feel.
- Redesigned Hosel: The sleeker design significantly improves feel and allows the hosel to be more easily adjusted to fit a golfer's custom specifications.
- Sole Width Progression: The sole width of each iron has been optimized based on the length and loft to provide better turf interaction through the entire set.
- Callaway Golf Core Technologies: VFT Technology maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness. 360-Degree Undercut Channel maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower and farther back in the clubhead, enlarging the hitting area and stabilizing the clubhead for more forgiveness.

Comments about Callaway Golf X-22 Tour Irons:
Easier to hit than the proto blades in the 3-5 irons. These irons had shafts that matched my set (Black Gold) and were 2* flat.

Comments about Callaway Golf X-22 Tour Irons:
The X-22 tour irons are a great combination - a player's club look and feel with increased forgiveness. As I have gotten older and my ball striking more inconsistent, my iron play has suffered. These clubs allow me to get away with some slight mishits and still have an acceptable shot.

Comments about Callaway Golf X-22 Tour Irons:
I got these as a replacement for my old X-14 graphite iron set. I got the X-22 Tour set with the Adila reg. graphite shaft. I liked my old iron set, but I wanted something new. I also wanted a new set that would give me more feedback on mishits. These definately let you know when you didn't hit it right, but are somewhat forgiving. I'm not a great golfer, but I feel that these clubs will help me improve instead of relying on "forgiving" clubs. I got mine in like new condition, and they looked new. Eddie from Callaway was great help in getting these clubs. Service was top notch. After a few rounds, I'm starting to get use to my new set. My goal this season is to bring my handicap below 18 with these clubs.

Comments about Callaway Golf X-22 Tour Irons:
Played with Callaway BB06 with graphite shafts, which I loved. Got these Tour 22's about a month ago, played in a tournament and got two "closest to pin" awards and hit the pin with a 6 iron shot. Phenomenal accuracy and feel. I have the Stiff steel shafts. Clubs are much heavier than i was used to but feel better each time I use them. Had to get used to that weight. Amazing clubs.

Q:
I noticed that there is talk of not being able to flatten the lie but why do you give the option on this web site can I order them three degrees flat without weakening the hosel?Asked on 1/4/2010 by TL from Charlotte, NC1 answer
A:
You can't flatten the lie once you've bought new clubs, however you can buy them new [or used if someone else has already customized them] at up to 3 degrees flat or 3 degrees up. So if you bought new clubs from Callaway, you could get them flat or up, but you can't bring it somewhere to manually change it, nor can Callaway. make sense?Answered on 3/23/2010 by delrod from Toccoa, Georgia

We have tried to alter the lie on the X-22 Tour irons in our factory and it makes the hosel area too weak and there is a change of them breaking easier.Answered on 12/21/2009 by Mary Cass from 800-200-4726
Q:
I am 56 years old have 7 hcp I have x12 pro series, with a 7 iron I play about 163 yards, would the x22 tour irons be the smart upgrade and Rifel x flited 6.0 stiff the right shaft.Asked on 12/18/2009 by JJ from Sweden1 answer
A:
I am also 56 years old; have a 7 handicap; I hit a 7 iron about 155 yards and am playing with the 5.5's X22 tours; I think the 6.0 would still be OK for me but I prefer a slightly softer shaft in order to hit the ball higher. the 6.0 should be good for you.Answered on 12/26/2009 by 4hybrid from Birmingham AL
