In our never-ending mission to find more distance and accuracy for golfers, Callaway Golf’s engineers used an entirely new design to once again produce a driver that’s longer and straighter than anything we’ve ever made. The overall feel of the driver is great. At contact, it feels exactly like a driver should. Control and forgiveness is good, but I can still work the ball either direction. I ordered a Stiff flex shaft, the one chosen isn't quite stiff enough. If I had it to do over, I'd make another shaft choice. The shape of the head is a bit disconcerting initially, on it's end, it looks like an alien head....Once the driver makes contact with the ball, you forget any negative thoughts about the shape. Overall, a great driver. Definitely a 9/10.

Today (Aug 6th, 2010) I received my 8.5 FT IZ Tour head with Speeder 652 shaft, + 1/2 inch over standard length... I took it out this afternoon to the driving range for a full test and this thing is VERY VERY long, stupid long!.. Long and Accurate. I hit approx 45 balls with this driver over the course of an hour, mixing up my swings and shots. Its Very easy to work the ball in any direction... Right to left, low or high. A skilled user will have NO problem commanding this driver around a golf course. Novice and intermediate players will very much appreciate the simplicity of use, put a solid, smooth swing on this driver and it sends the ball long and very straight. This club is absolutely a fairway finder!
At address It inspires lots of confidence with its long, deep face, but the best part of this driver is the weighting.. The weighting of this club is near perfect! The heavy face is easily felt through your hands all the way through the swing.. Most drivers today are super light, swinging D0 or D1. Set this driver up at a D5 or D6 and you will be very satisfied with the feel. My ONLY complaint is the sound at impact. It sounds muffled.. Almost like hitting a cardboard box. The subdued sound is NO indication of the beautiful drives I was beholding in front of me! A few times during the workout I thought I missed it, but much to my pleasant surprise the ball flew perfectly and long.. and After hitting a few well over 350 yards, I quickly got over the soft/muffled sound. Its just a different feel compared to many of todays drivers that provide a hyper-positive feel and sound at impact. The sound of the FT IZ is not necessarily bad, its just very different from my experience.
The Bottom Line- Huge distance, fairway friendly, sounds like a box of Kleenex! LOL
Gentlemen, You will love this driver. In one workout this Driver made its way to first string in my bag!!

I have the tour model with the Voodoo 60 X-flex shaft. Very long when hit on the center of the clubface. Tendency is to overdraw it though. Must swing smoothly and not try to bash it. May need more stiff shaft. Triangular shape of the head takes some getting used to. overall, pretty good driver.
